Plants
- The crepe myrtle leaves have turned red with the shorter days and cooler temperatures. Soon they will loose their leaves.
- A number of wattles will begin to flower this month. They include: Woolly Wattle, Flinders Ranges Wattle and Gold Dust Wattle.
- Several grevilleas should be flowering this month. They include: Grevillea rosmarinifolia, G. levis, G diesiana, G. obtusifolia, Spider-Net Grevillea, Robyn Gordon, Ellen Pool, Sea Spray, Sunsprite and Winparra Gem
- The Golden Spotted emu bush will continue to flower
Saloop bushes have flower buds
Animals
- Mice will start to become more noticeable in warm spots in the garden, sheds and houses.
- White-plumed Honeyeaters are still around feeding on the flowering Dwyer’s Red Gum.
- The many grevilleas that flower at this time of the year provide a great source of winter food for the honeyeaters.
- Eastern Rosella may come into the garden as the food supply outside becomes scarce.
