The Narrandera Wetland is an ideal place to observe waterbirds. It has hides located around the water providing a shady and comfortable spot to sit and watch spoonbills, ibis, ducks and many other waterfowl.
The wetlands were once the pondage for the Narrandera sewerage treatment works. Beginning in 2005, a local community group and Narrandera LandCare with support from the NSW Environment Trust and Narrandera Shire Council have developed this outstanding wetland.

The wetland is a haven for waterbirds and associated flora and fauna. It also receives stormwater from the town and "filters" the impurities from this water before it enters the Murrumbidgee River.
Signs along the walking track that surrounds the pond and in the bird observing hides tell the story of the wetland and help identify the many bird and animal species likely to be seen there.

The Narrandera Wetland is on the western side of the Newell Highway between the Murrumbidgee River and Narrandera town. There is a shady parking area with a short walk to picnic tables and the walk around the wetland.
Visitors might also like to see the koala sanctuary which you can enter on the eastern side of the Highway across from the wetland.
